There once was a time in the not too distant past that I enjoyed Batman. I would have easily ranked him in my personal top 10 super hero list. All of that changed when I started here at GBR. I came face to face with REAL Batman fans. I mean, I thought the guy was smart and skilled and what not, but apparently I knew nothing of the Dark Knight. According to this “Cult of the Batman” no one stands a chance against this god-like hero. It would seem as long as he has time to plan no one can beat him. Well I plan on putting that theory to the test. I do know however, that no matter what I say, it will instantly be shot down. Luckily, I bought a new set of Stark Industries noise canceling headphones.
We all know Bane is the man that “Broke the Bat”. It would also seem that he caught Batman off-guard. For those not in the know, Bane broke all of the inmates out of Arkham so Batman would run himself ragged trying to recapture them all. After Batman’s work was done he went back to Wayne Manor only to find Bane waiting for him. Now I’m wondering, if this god-like hero was so smart, why did he not think something was amiss when all of a sudden ALL of the inmates got busted out of the clink at the same time? If he is as smart as the Kool-Aid drinkers say he is, he would have known to “prepare” for something other than this obvious distraction.
In Wonder Woman: Hiketeia, Batman wanted to bring a woman named Danielle to justice over murdering a few sex traffickers. Wonder Woman was sworn to protect this lady and handed ol’ Batman his ass. Not one, but two GBR Kool-Aid drinkers have told me that Batman has a contingency plan for all JLA members. Is Wonder Woman in the Justice League? Hmmm? Oh yeah, she is.
It’s pretty safe to say that the Joker has had his fair share of beatings at the hands of Batman. However, that’s not why I bring him up. Brad likes to say, “The Joker does it for the lolz!”. Brad is right, but he also does it for Batman. The sad part of it is, Batman isn’t “intelligent” enough to realize it. The Joker is only looking for attention and Batman gives it to him every time. Batman needs to realize that the Joker kills people to get a reaction from him, so in a way he is responsible for those deaths. I would say chalk that up as a win to the Joker.
Obviously this is “shots fired” at Blaine and Brandon. I have really enjoyed our heated discussions on this topic, and I wanted to stoke the fire a little bit. I’m quite sure I did what I set out to do. But they are not the only members of this Cult of the Batman. If you have also ordered a giant penny to go in your man-cave, comment below. I will hang up my blueprint of an Arc Reactor in my man-cave as I patiently wait to hear from you.
